It is well-known fact that when you are a curlie/natural girl you do not want to leave it to chance what happens to your hair while on a getaway. So, I have put together a list of no fail items that every curlie girl should pack on a trip to anywhere.
(Kiroja Argan Oil here, Silk Pillowcase here)
Essential Items:
A Spray bottle: Do not add liquid (remember the security check point). If you are on the road for only a few days – say 3 days – there’s no need to wash your hair, sometimes a little spritz of water will refresh your curls.
A Shower cap: Although most hotels do provide a complimentary disposable shower cap, if you’re like my bestie with 2 tons of hair it will not fit in that cap. Would you risk getting your whole head wet? I think not.
Travel size bottles: This depends on location and number of days too. If you are going for at least 4 days you will need whatever products in your regimen – a conditioner, a leave-in, and a styler.
Kiroja Argan Oil: I love this oil because it has multiple uses (think packing light). It can be used on your hair (as a sealer and morning refresher), and on your skin – it’s already the perfect size for traveling.
A Diffuser: Again this all depends on the number of days away from home. I will sometimes just bring the attachment because the hotel provides a blow dryer (most times).
Hair ties: Simply because Mother Nature has a mind of her own, and so does your hair. Well, sometimes the weather is not conducive to a perfectly coiffed wash and go, a twist out, or braid out. Other times, your hair simply will swell out of control, so if that is not your desired look (I don’t mind it so much) than those ties will come in handy.
*A Silk or Satin Pillowcase: Keep in mind even the softest cotton is still harsh on your hair, so be prepared. You will experience less frizz, and you are sure to preserve your style – at least the first 2 or 3 days. Besides, you are on vacation, do you really want to spend hours re-styling your hair?

Hi Fabiana, If you have a pillowcase just put it on your favorite pillow and sleep on it at night. The long term benefits of sleeping on a silk or satin pillowcase is well worth the wait. As a matter of fact, the best thing you can do for your hair and skin is to sleep on silk or satin – especially now that your hair is short. You will see more hair retention and sleeker and shinier hair when you wake up.
